This week, the people who answer most of the questions in the various Google forums, are at Google for a special event called the Top Contributor Summit.
It is an annual even hosted by Google to:
(1) Show appreciation to those who spend countless hours, for free, helping Google answer questions for their users.
(2) Communicate with the top contributors about new ideas to help improve support.
(3) Network and meet people face to face, since many never get to meet each other.
It is the least Google can do. :)
Anyway, because most of the Googlers and Top Contributors who would be helping Google users are at Google and not at their home base, responses to questions in the forums are slow. Some are complaining, like this guy in the Google Web Search Help forums who wrote:
Is anyone getting any of these questions answered? It sounds like we are all frustrated but I'm seeing no responses from Google advisors at all just lots of complaints. I will not add more, just wondering where to go for actual answers. I concur with most of what's already said and still don't know how to pull my calendar up yet.
Yes, it will be very slow this week to get answers because all of the answers are on a retreat of some sorts.
Moritz Tolxdorff from Google posted a video of day 0, the day before the event, of how Googlers are preparing for the summit.
