Any of you who have used Google TV Ads in the past can no longer use the program as of December 16th, three days ago.
December 16th, Google discontinued TV ads from airing. Google posted a reminder of this on Google+ saying:
As announced earlier this year, Google TV Ads have been formally discontinued. TV ads campaigns will no longer be aired as of December 16th.
The Google TV Ads landing page is stil live at google.com/ads/tv claiming a "a smart way to reach your audience on national television." But if you try to play the video explaining it, it won't work. I did find a copy of it over here:
Google adds that you can advertise within YouTube videos:
Instead of TV ads, we're focusing on other video solutions for our advertisers like YouTube & AdWords for Video. With AdWords for Video you can use AdWords' dynamic, auction-based system to easily place and manage video ads on YouTube and the Google Display Network, helping extend your campaigns' reach. Similar to pay-per-click, you only pay when users view your ads. Learn more about AdWords for Video.
Have you ever tried Google TV Ads? If so, why did it fail?
