Matt Brittin, Google's President, EMEA Business & Operations is now all over social media buzzing about he refused to answer how much he is paid by Google. This is around Meg Hillier from the British Labour Co-operative, a Member of Parliament for Hackney South and Shoreditch, questioning Google over taxes in the EU.
Honestly, I am more shocked she asked the question. Do people get to know what others get paid just because they asked the question?
Listen to it:
Google's UK boss says he 'doesn't know' how much he gets paid during a fierce grilling by @Meg_HillierMPhttps://t.co/7luSb7Al5A

I mean, he clearly doesn't feel comfortable answering that and did offer to get her the data privately and while not on video.
In the US, salary isn't really a common topic amongst co-workers or friends. So this just seems odd to me.
I don't necessarily blame how Matt Brittin answered or didn't answer the question.
I know this is not search focused but it was just so surprising to me.
