In the past 24-hours or so, I've been seeing some early signs of a possible Google update. It might be impacting a limit number of sites or it might be the start of something big. Maybe the early signs of Penguin - wishful thinking?
I've received dozens of questions via email and social about changes in the Google search results. And the WebmasterWorld thread has some early chatter.
The Black Hat forums are quiet, which signals to me that this is not Penguin related - if anything.
Here are some posts from WebmasterWorld:
Some of my keywords are showing massive spike in rankings. I hope they stays :D
My biggest realworld business site looks as though it may have its busiest day of the year, already at 4th busiest and up 50% so far v average, with a good spread across many countries, tomorrow's analysis will be interesting:-)
Have seen an uptick in traffic today. It's looking like a steady increase of roughly 10%. I have also noticed that my long tail keyword rankings have been improving over the last week, but broad keywords are falling slightly. Conversions are normal and steady for this time of year.
@glenngabe @Marie_Haynes @rustybrick a lot of major SERP fluc chatter in forums, could it be a #penguinupdate ? #seo :)

Marie Hayes, at least yesterday morning, didn't see any changes in her data, but maybe she will today?
@rustybrick @vladrpt @glenngabe Just checked my data. Can't see any obvious changes.

None of the automated tracking tools so significant signs of an update yet either, but they all pretty much missed the last official Panda news.
