It seems we may have had a Google algorithm update yet again over the weekend. You can actually see all our confirmed and unconfirmed Google updates, including the most recent ones from the other week. It seems this update touched down on November 18th or so.
But it seems like there was a lot of webmaster chatter starting Friday through the weekend at WebmasterWorld about another possible update. People are saying their rankings went up or down and/or their traffic from Google went up or down. Yes, people say that all the time, but not in masses.
Some are saying Google rolled back the November 10th update, which went unconfirmed. Some are saying this is Google upping their mobile first index stuff and some are saying it is Panda or Penguin related. But it does seem like a November 10th reversal, which touched down on the 18th of November.
Here are some quotes:
In my case, yesterday, was very good. Good "quality" traffic, good time on site, good number of page view per visitors, good adsense incomes. And for the first time, it looked like what I am expecting.
Not quite sure what they did (or I did) , but my traffic came back fully today. seemingly right at midnight too.Guessing they must be doing on-the-fly tweaks right at midnight. Since it's not the first time i've seen drastic changes from 1 day to the next....starting at midnight EST.
Definitely seems like it was the mobile index test on the 10th with a rollback on the 18th. My bet is that it's coming very soon.
Also down from November 17-18 here on a site that wasn't really impacted by the November 10 update.
Glenn Gabe also posted some charts showing the November 10th reversal:
Nov 10 algo update reversals starting ystdy. This supports my theory that it was the mobile-first index being tested. Will update my post. pic.twitter.com/aDa2xvaScO
