Google Carousel Card Videos

Google seems to be showing the video carousel within Google Search a lot less often. Semrush had the video carousel showing up in Google Search at just over 30% of queries but now it is under 20% of the time. Some other data shows it dropping even worse.

Here is the Semrush chart:

Jonas Sickler notified me of this and shared a chart of 1,200 Fortune 1000 and Forbes List brand name searches that he tracks daily and it showed it going from about 40% to about 5% of the time, here is his chart that he shared on LinkedIn:

Jonathan wrote, "On August 12th there were two big changes to the SERP landscape for brand name searches. 85% DECREASE in the number of brands showing video carousels. (Feature presence dropped from over 30% of tracked brands to around 5% of brands.)."

This is what a video carousel looks like on Google Search:

Two years ago, Google did drop support for video carousel markup but that doesn't mean Google stopped showing video carousels.
