Several weeks ago, Google began showing more and more video carousels in the search results. So much so, publishers were upset because it was leading to less traffic to their web sites. Google seems to have reversed it and is now showing video carousels less often now.
In fact, we reported on ways to remove the unwanted videos from showing up for your site because it was such an issue for some publishers.
Here is what a video carousel may look like:
Glenn Gabe posted on Twitter that he has seen the shift in the number of videos scale back significantly. He wrote "changes started rolling out yesterday and many are being released from the carousels!" Here is his tweet:

So it looks like Google listened and made some adjustments, for now...
