As you know, Google scheduled their last few hangouts using Google+ Hangouts and now, John Mueller is looking for alternatives for doing the webmaster hangouts. I am very grateful that he did not do away with them and that he is looking for alternatives.
The alternative John Mueller of Google seems to be experimenting with and may go with in the near future is using YouTube Live. Since the Q&A moderator feature is not in YouTube Live, John is hacking Google Slides Q&A session to use two different systems to handle the hangouts.
John posted on Twitter a sample Google Slides Q&A over here and honestly, it seems like it will work. It is separate, but he can easily link to both when he schedules the YouTube Live URL and the Google Slides Q&A URL.
Here is what the Slides Q&A looks like:
Again, I am very glad John and Google isn't using this as an excuse to stop the webmaster hangouts. They are incredibly valuable to many many webmasters and does add that flavor of one-on-one support that Google has lacked prior to these hangouts.
