Google has a Doodle, aka Google Logo, on their home page on many of the Google properties for the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

The Doodle also represents the first day of Winter.

In today's Google Doodle, you will see an animated GIF showing off a family making a snow man, in Googlely colors, in the shape of the Google letters.

Most Google home pages for regions in the Northern Hemisphere will show this Google logo today to mark the 2014 Winter Solstice.

Did you do anything special for the day?
