What's Up With The Google Zombie Traffic

Google Zombie Traffic

Not to be confused with what I am calling the Google Halloween Zombie Update - many webmasters at WebmasterWorld are noticing weird types of users being referred to their web sites via Google.

They are calling these users that Google is sending over Zombie users because the users act like Zombies. They are dwelling on the site, not converting, slowly moving from page to page, like Zombies would travel around time.

This behavior was first noticed in early October where one webmaster posted:

Sunday morning, usually banging away, but nothing but slow moving Zombie traffic, one or two at a time and sitting on the same pages for several minutes. Switch is currently OFF.

Webmasters have been posting their unusual changes in conversion rates from day to day. Some days they have their typical conversion rates from Google's organic traffic and some days the conversion rates are incredibly low.

This has been happening on and off the whole month of October, coincidentally which is the month Halloween is in. There is no one who can understand why this is the case.

Have you noticed these patterns?

I have not seen a thread like this in a long time and many of you have asked me to pull this one out and bring it more attention.
