Google has released a new report within the AdSense interface for monitoring the interest based ads displayed on some AdSense units.
The new report can be found under the "Performance tab" and then click on the "Accounts by entire day" drop down. Within there, select the "Targeting types." Google will then break down a report that shows you contextual, interest based, and placement ads.
Here is a picture:
This offers more transparency into how the interest based ads (IBA) are performing. Prior there was a lot of confusion on how well they performed, leading some publishers to opt out of IBA ads ultimately impacting their earnings. This report is even more important since Google seems to be beefing up showing and displaying these types of ads. Personally, I see them everywhere.
AdSenseAdvisor said in a WebmasterWorld thread, "for those of you who aren't opted in, I'd highly recommend reconsidering opting-in and tracking the results."
Will you give interest based Google ads another try as a publisher?
