Julie Joyce, 45 years old, lives in Greensboro, North Carolina in a house that is 118 years old. Julie is very active on social media, helping SEOs left and right. She can often be found in a conversation about the technicalities around what messaging Google has given webmasters or what she has learned recently in our space. She is known as a fun and caring person who is always looking to help her peers on many professional levels.
I personally enjoy following her on Twitter at @JulieJoyce and on Facebook. Her insights and contributions both on social media and through her speaking engagements and contributed articles are always filled with actionable takeaways.
Julie had a few nominations including this one from Donna Cavalier:
Julie Joyce is that quirky fun person you wish you could meet for coffee now and then. She brought me into the SEO Chicks group and that was a great experience for me. I appreciate her knowledge and adore her wit. Such a cool person.
Julie Joyce Bio: Julie Joyce is the owner of Link Fish Media, a link building and SEO company based in Greensboro, NC. She is the co-founder of SEO Chicks and has previously written for Search Engine Watch and Search Engine Journal. She currently authors a monthly link building article on Search Engine Land.
Favorite thing about the SEO community? I love that the SEO community comes together. You see it when you ask questions or answer questions. You see it when there's been a death or serious illness in the industry. I've had SEOs contribute to a massive dental bill for one of my young cousins. People are just so willing to help each other out whether it's personal or business, and I have not encountered that in any other industry in which I've worked.
One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? Ask questions!! Ask them privately or publicly on social media, but ask them. You don't learn anything by staying quiet and thinking you know best all the time.
Favorite things in general? I am obsessed with mysteries...films and books. I especially like all the Scandinavian mysteries as they're extra creepy. Basically I like anything creepy!
What you want to be known for in the SEO space? Being welcoming and honest. I love it when someone new to the industry asks me questions and talks to me.
Julie wanted you to read her contributed pieces at Search Engine Land, Search Engine Watch and Search Engine Journal - I'd also recommend you follow her on Twitter and check out her company named Link Fish Media.
