Louis Daguerre Google Logo

Today Google is honoring Louis Daguerre with a special Google logo, also known as a Google Doodle.

Louis Daguerre was well known for inventing the daguerreotype process of photography, which was the first commercially successful photographic process. They were usually portraits, requiring the subject to stay still for several minutes during the photo.

Danguerre was born in France on November 18, 1787 and died at the age of 63 on July 10, 1851 in France.

The Google logo represents the style of the photos taken with the daguerreotype process.
