Matt McGee has announced and posted on Twitter he is leaving the search industry, including Third Door Media and its properties, Search Engine Land, Marketing Land and MarTech Today.

This comes right after the Rand Fishkin news and a few weeks after Danny Sullivan has announced his retirement. Here is Matt's quote for Search Engine Land:
"I've had a wonderful nine years with Third Door Media and am really proud of what we've accomplished," said McGee, adding, "With Search Engine Land's position as the news site of record for search marketers, I'm confident that the incredibly talented team will continue covering the marketing industry with their trusted insights and thought leadership."
Matt has been tremendous for the growth of these properties and he will be missed by everyone who worked with him directly or indirectly in the industry.
