John Mueller, a Google Webmaster Trends Analysts in Zurich, was all booked to be in person at SMX Israel in Jerusalem. Something came up and he had to cancel his trip but we didn't give up.
Instead, John was there live over Google Hangout - in real time.
SMX Israel was this Sunday and John was part of two different sessions. He answered questions live, one on one with attendees in the morning session and then a live Q&A session as the last session of the day.
It was pretty cool that it worked so smoothly, although it did not replace the real thing being there. It was close but not perfect.
I have to commend John for spending all day in the Google office on Sunday for this.
