Google's Mountain View, California office has a wall up that showcases some of the more influential women. I am not sure which office this is in, I am thinking it is in the new campus.
I spotted this on Instagram and I translated the text, here is what it says:
1. Ada Lovelace: Pictured wearing a Victorian dress reflecting a 19th century background.
2. Melanie Rieback: I'm wearing a modern attire that reflects my current role.
3. Grace Hopper: A pioneer in computer science, the person who developed the first computer programming language compiler. I'm wearing a navy uniform that represents my role as Chief of the United States Navy.
4. Anita Borg: Depicted in casual attire that represents a friendly and dynamic personality.
5. Katherine Johnson: This is a mathematician who did important calculations for the success of the U.S. space mission. Painted in professional gear highlighting their role at NASA.
6. Radia Perlman: Known as the mother of the internet, who invented the Spanning Tree Protocol. It was depicted as a thought-provoking image, symbolizing my contribution to network engineering.
7. Margaret Hamilton: I am a computer scientist who developed the software for the Apollo space mission. Holding a book or programming note symbolizing her extensive contributions to software engineering.
8. Jeri Janet Ellsworth: A person who has done innovative and entrepreneurial activities in augmented reality and hardware engineering. Holding a sneak peek, hinting at her exploratory approach to technology and engineering.
