Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.
Search Engine Roundtable Stories:
- Google Auto Complete Suggestions Design Change
Jayesh Vaishnav shared on Twitter a screen shot of Google auto suggest or auto complete might be testing a design change. As you type longer queries, instead of the suggestions showing in full length below, it shows just the upcoming words. Here is a GIF of it in action that I captured, but I asked others and they cannot replicate it. - Google Launches Shopping Product Cards Buttons On Desktop Search
Google is testing showing product cards in the Google Shopping panel on desktop now. The screen shot comes from Dave Lorrez who does a lot of SEM in the e-commerce space. Glenn Gabe also thinks it is new, espesially for desktop search results. - Google Tests Favicons For Top Stories
Google loves testing favicons, they do it all the time, and now Google is testing favicons in the top stories carousel. I am personally able to replicate it using my Mac on Chrome Incognito mode. Jon Henshaw first spotted it and posted it on Twitter yesterday. - Google Search Console Notification: Mobile App Properties No Longer Supported
Google has sent me and others who have verified mobile app profiles in Google Search Console that they are no longer supported. The email says "at the end of March, 2019, Search Console will end support for app properties." - Valentine's Day From Google, Bing, Baidu & The Search Industry
Happy Valentine's Day to all of you out there! To celebrate the day, Google, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu and others from the search industry have special logos, Doodles and home page themes - including us. - Google Logo On Mercedes Van
Google has at least one white Mercedes van, I know that because here is a photo of one with the G, Google logo, on it while at the GooglePlex in Mountain View, California. The photo is on Instagram
