Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.
Search Engine Roundtable Stories:
- Google: YMYL Sites Should Have An Expert To Write The Content
Google's John Mueller talked about YMYL, specific to the health space, and mentioned that it is if you are writing about a topic on health that you are not an expert on then you are starting off already on a "shaky foundation." - Google Figures Out What Users Want & Like Based On Comparing Your Content To Others?
One of the questions I hear a lot is how does Google know if a web site is something that a user/searcher will like if it doesn't look directly at user behavior signals. Google is testing more local pack designs and features in search. Sergey Alakov and Mordy Oberstein are noticing Google adding more tabs to the branded local pack. And now Mike Blumenthal is also seeing the carousel/scrollable local pack design that Google has been testing for a while. - The Google Search Console Team Busy With New Features & Migrating Old
I asked John Mueller of Google yesterday if we can have an update on anything new coming from the Google Search Console team. He wouldn't give specifics but he did say the team is "working on a lot of stuff" and we should see stuff happening soon. He said this includes both new features and also migrating old features. - Rolling A Mural At The GooglePlex
