Google's John Mueller said on a webmaster hangout this morning that white space pushing content down for design and layout purposes is not an issue for SEO or ranking in Google. He said the issue really revolves around having ads where it is hard to find the content on the page that the searcher is looking for. - Google: Manual Actions Still Expire & Sometimes Algorithms Take Over
Google's John Mueller reminded us on Twitter that manual actions still do expire, we knew this from 2011. He also added that sometimes when they expire, they might not come back as a manual action because an algorithm might deal with it in the future. - Google Ads Expands Exact Match To Include Same Meaning Of Words
Google Ads has quietly expanded how exact match works by also including keywords in exact match to include close variations that share the same meaning as your keyword. This was first reported by Ginny Marvin at Search Engine Land who covered this in detail. - Google Shows Multiple Featured Snippets In Grid
Google can show a featured snippet from multiple sources, we covered this before, but here is a slightly new look at how Google may show it. You can see for car reviews, Google will pick up snippets from three different sites with some useful information. - Google Research Team Wants To Interview You On Google Search Console
Google posted on Twitter that the Google Research team is looking to gather some names of webmasters to interview about their experience in using Google Search Console. Google created a short survey form so you can be added to the list of people who they may reach out to. - YouTube Trolley
Here is a photo of inside the Google UK office showing a trolley or bus that has the YouTube logo on it. The bus has 55 via Hackney on the route sign, of course. This photo was posted on Instagram.
