Ross Hudgens, 32 years old, is married and splits his time between his two offices in San Diego, CA and Austin, TX. He and his wife are both in the marketing space.
Ross has been active in the search community since 2012, shortly after that Panda update. He has been very active in contributing knowledge through his contributed articles on sites like Search Engine Land, Moz, Forbes, and even on social media sites like Hacker News and of course, Twitter and other places. He also has recently been doing a lot of video content, which is something the industry doesn't have so much of outside of a handful of sources.
He was nominated by someone who wants to be unnamed but that person wrote:
Ross has been great in being transparent and offering amazing ideas and resources in his content and blog publishing, as well as responding to the random questions I might have once in awhile via email. Really appreciate him sharing industry knowledge he has, it's great for SEOs still learning the ropes.
Ross Hudgens Bio: Ross Hudgens founded Siege Media, a content marketing agency specializing in SEO, in August of 2012. Siege, now going on five years old, made the Inc 5000 list in 2017 and was also named one of San Diego's fastest growing companies. Before Siege, Ross worked in the insurance and mortgage space building websites from launch to #1 rankings for extremely competitive queries. Ross’ work has been featured on Moz.com, Search Engine Land, Forbes, AOL, Hacker News, among other outlets.
Favorite thing about the SEO community? People are genuinely helpful and care about what they do as a whole.
One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? Push out the noise and stay focused on the work.
Favorite things in general? My favorite color is green. My favorite food right now is Poke, healthy and delicious! I'm a big vino and enjoy going wine tasting with my wife. We're headed to South France in the end of November.
What you want to be known for in the SEO space? I try to position us as a content marketing focused agency who helps in-house SEO teams grow their search presence through content and links. As a person, I am hopeful that my communication makes me come across professional and also, worthy of respect from the peers I respect as well.
