A) Both are accurate but it is about the details. Trends shows you all the terms that have hotel in them. Keyword tool emulates broad match, so beyond hotel. So the difference he is saying is related to the match type...

Google does not explicitly filter out non commercial terms. Some queries are filtered out for privacy concerns. The facebook not showing thing from a while back, it was a bug.
