We've covered this before, don't lie to Google in their Google forums. But it happens all the time!
In a recent Google Webmaster Help thread, one webmaster is asking about using a PR service, as if they never tried it. The webmaster wrote:
I have recently made contact with a company named PRWeb and I was wondering if anyone here has used or could recommend them for getting a higher ranking in google? My Current SEO is useless and I was offered a 1000 keywords package for a very reasonable price and it includes support throughout. The website is www.prweb.com.au I have seen on Truelocal and facebook that there are a lot of happy customers out there, But of course I would love some further opinions before investing my money.
In which John Mueller of Google jumps at:
James, it would be nice if you disclosed your association with this website.According to this thread: "My website designer encouraged me to purchase this product (...) Its been a few months now and (...)!" you're already a client of PRWeb.
Just to be clear, if you are buying PageRank-passing links from any website, that would be considered a violation of our webmaster guidelines.
Don't try to be smart with Google, it will come back to bite you. More importantly, keep this in mind for reconsideration requests.
