News via Reddit that Twitter is no longer supporting their Google Glass app. This is a major blow to Google Glass, from a developer perspective and user perspective.
The Reddit user said:
According to Glass support Twitter is no longer developing their Glass app. This was one of my favorite and most used apps on Glass. If you remove Twitter from your Glass it disappears from Glassware and there is no option to reinstall it.
If you load the Google Glass apps, you may notice that your Twitter app no longer has an icon and says it is not reviewed by Google. If you remove it, the app is gone, and you can never reinstall. I suspect some developer may make an alternative using the Twitter API, but Twitter won't be working on it directly.
This is what my current Twitter app looks like on my Glass page compared to the Facebook one:
Sarah Price from the Google Glass team responded on Reddit saying:
To be fair, developing for Glass has changed a lot since the Twitter Glassware was first released. Back then, we only had the Mirror API. Now just last week, we released Notification Sync (which uses Wear APIs) and is another solution to getting your tweets on Glass.I don't have any specific news to share just yet but everyone here at Glass HQ is still very excited about the next version and consumer release of Glass.
I am sad to say, I barely use Google Glass anymore. I used to use it daily, but now not at all.
