This week in search, I cover how Google said you should avoid doing any link building. Some SEOs are waiting patiently for the next Google Panda update. Google may have tested a new algorithm this week. Google added a new cool carousel for snippets and explains how you can optimize for it. Google said again you can’t redirect a penalty to a competitor. Google News wants your titles and headlines to be consistent and says the sitemap index count is not accurate. Google said you should only use the submit to index for general purposes. Google labeled many many sites incorrectly as being hacked and said it was a misclassification and posted a form you can submit for expedited review. Google fixed the data issues with both Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools. Finally, Google AdWords added a release notes page for new AdWords features. That was this past week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
