This week in search, I covered a Google search algorithm update that seems somewhat large. I also covered that Google is now more confident about their mobile first index switch. Google said more data is coming to the Google Search Console soon. Google is also looking to speed up the data pipeline in Search Analytics. Google had a data logging issue with Search Console as well, and it is still a week behind. We posted results of Google Search Console usage poll from John Mueller. Google can now show video previews in the top carousel in search. Google is going to launch a new first click free program to help publishers boost subscribers. Google Local launched questions and answers for all mobile browsers now. Google local results now is testing show review extracts. Google is also showing a recently opened label on some business listings. Google My Business insights photos data is delayed. Google’s Gary Illyes doesn’t like doing private support, but John Mueller will. Google said blocking images doesn’t impact core web search rankings. Google says when canonicals conflict they just pick one, they don’t drop both. Google AdWords added searches cards and landing page report for mobile friendly usage.
