This week, I rushed a bit because I had a power outage this morning that set me back. Google may have done yet another Google algorithm update October 8th or so. Google explained how and why they do updates and when they communicate about them. Google’s mobile first indexing change is unrelated to the algorithm updates and shifts says Google. Google said if you see a spike in your crawl rate, it is likely mobile-first indexing. Google+ is shutting down but I doubt it will impact SEOs much. Google is not using real life signals for web ranking. Here is a hack to see your cache page that 404s in search. Google says word counts, link counts, anchor text ratios and others are not indicative of quality. Google said they treat quoted text like standard text on a page. Google is testing expandable featured snippet like Sitselinks. Google is testing a clipboard in the autocomplete suggestions. Google said other sites can outrank the original source even when linked to. Bing is not listening to the submit URL tool in Bing Webmaster Tools. Google is testing a trending feature in the local pack. Google warns that Google Duplex AI machines may be calling your store next month. Google launched the Google Home Hub with a display. The Pixel 3 has Google Lens built into the camera. Google has renamed the Top Contributors to Product Experts. Moz has acquired STAT search analytics.
